Swimming pool & water tank waterproofing in Dubai

A pool or tank is a structure under constant water load and chemical attack. We line it so the water stays in — and stays clean — for decades, not seasons.

Overview

Swimming Pool & Water Tank Waterproofing: scope, systems and delivery

Swimming Pool & Water Tank Waterproofing project by Halo Shield, Dubai

Leaking pools in Dubai often show up somewhere else entirely: damp in a basement plant room, cracks in surrounding paving or a water bill that won't come down. Rooftop pools and podium pools add movement and heat to the problem, and chlorinated or saline water attacks ordinary cementitious linings.

We pressure-test and inspect the shell, balancing tank and pipe penetrations, repair the substrate, then apply a seamless, chemical-resistant lining under the finish. For potable water tanks we use linings suitable for drinking water, so tanks stay clean and compliant.

The right specification starts with the condition of your property and the work it needs.

When to call us about swimming pool & water tank waterproofing

Share the signs you have noticed and when they occur. An assessment helps define the investigation and work required.

  1. 01Pool level dropping faster than evaporation explains

Before you appoint a contractor

Swimming pool and water tank waterproofing: what to check in your quote

The final scope follows inspection. Ask for preparation, materials, access, testing and reinstatement to be itemised so you can compare proposals fairly.

Define the work included

  • Shell condition, joints, penetrations and the existing lining
  • A lining system selected for the intended water use and agreed testing

Items that may cost extra

  • Draining, refilling and temporary water arrangements
  • Tile removal, shell repairs, pipework and finish replacement

What to send for an accurate quotation

Pool or tank dimensions, water use, leak history, drawings, existing lining details and shutdown constraints.

Comparing proposals

For drinking-water tanks, request evidence that the exact proposed product is suitable for potable-water contact. Pool finishes and tank linings are different specifications.

Changes to price and programme

Concealed damage, additional areas, changed materials or access restrictions can change the work. Ask for the extra cost, revised completion date and any effect on testing or warranty to be recorded and agreed before additional work proceeds.

Testing, handover and warranty

Confirm the inspection or testing method, completion records, aftercare and written warranty for the selected system. Coverage, duration, exclusions and maintenance requirements should be stated for your specific project.

FAQ

Questions about swimming pool & water tank waterproofing

More answers on our FAQ page, or speak to an engineer directly.

Can you fix a leaking pool without removing all the tiles?

Sometimes the leak is at a fitting or a single joint and can be repaired locally. Where the shell itself is failing, the finish has to come off so a continuous lining can go on. Leak detection tells us which.

Is the lining safe for drinking-water tanks?

Yes — for potable tanks we specify linings suitable for contact with drinking water and disinfect the tank before it's returned to service.

How long is a pool out of use?

A typical villa pool is drained, lined, cured and refilled within one to two weeks, depending on substrate repairs and the finish being reinstated.
